More importantly, nitpicking about minor points to try to invalidate a major point - that Christians and Muslims *can* live peacefully side-by-side, as they do in the US and many other countries - doesn't serve a productive purpose, does it?

Christians an Muslims, it would seem, have a better track record then Jews and Muslims. All of the aforementioned parties have had trouble with peaceful relations occassionally, but the Muslims versus Jews conflict seems to be much deeper rooted.

you seem to have forgotten all about the crusades, where far from just not being able to live side by side with muslims, christians actively sought them out in their own countries and viciously slaughtered them.

The ottomans also invaded Austria, for that matter. Counting who did what over the last 3000 years gives this:

Everyone did everything to every other, everywhere, in every way.

It is extremely non-productive.

on the contrary, by recognising the fact that 95% of the wars of history were in one way or another caused by religion, the solution should become very clear.

Well, when there was an attempt at a powerful non-religious nation, it didn´t turn out quite quite well, you know ;-)

and you're trying to tell me that the lack of religion was at fault there?

the logic here is amazing. compare: 1) 95% of wars in history were caused by religion. therefore removing religion would reduce the number of wars 2) 1 country in history was non relgious. that 1 country also happened to be corrupt. therefore not having religion results in a corrupt nation

which makes sense? for a change, it happens to be my argument.
