Between Maildrop 2.2 and 2.3 something changed in the way maildrop handles variables when in deliver mode.

I have looked through the included readme files, but I haven't seen much information about how it works, or how to revert to the old behaviour.

I am using maildrop with qmail/qmail-scanner v2.08, and v2.2 works perfectly.

To clarify: qmail-scanner uses the reformime application, which the maildrop source provides.

v2.3+ causes qmail-scanner to break with "Unknown character set: ANSI_X3.4-1968". Reverting to 2.2 causes the errors to go away.

What little i've found suggests this is due to the way the maildrop package now handles environment variables. is the only english reporting of this error.. perhaps other people with similar configs don't apply updates as regularly.

Anyhow, I would like to fix this, and would appreciate getting pointed in the right direction.

This is corrected in maildrop 2.4

Alternatively, add "import LANG" to .maildropfilter.
