Subject:Re: Problem with cross-domain tracking - handover from ga.js to urchin.js possible?

There shouldn't be any differences, but it's entirely possible.

To fine out here's two questions. Do you use _setDomainName("none") on ALL the pages of your hotel site? If not, does your domain hash start with "1"?

Or better yet, can you paste the URL you get when you land on the booking site. Specifically the query string (? __utma=XXXXXX&__utmb=XXXXX) etc.

I am trying to track visitors when they jump from one site (hotel) to another (booking). However, it seems that cookie data isn't handed over to the booking domain, when I am using the new ga.js code on the hotel site:

<script type="text/javascript" src=" ga.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("<account>"); pageTracker._setDomainName("none"); pageTracker._setAllowLinker(true); pageTracker._initData(); pageTracker._trackPageview(); </script>

However, when using the old urchin.js, it works as expected:

<script src="" type="text/ javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> _uacct="<account>"; _udn="none"; _ulink=1; urchinTracker(); </script>

I've found that the booking site (recieving domain) is using urchin.js. Is that the problem or should they be compatible even when handing over cookie-data from one domain to another?
