When did Hamlet download the 0.2 jars? There were several broken ones on the web server prior to the official announcement on monday. IIRC the sign/pack loop was one of the problems for a set of the jars I uploaded while at 2GX and couldn't get down soon enough.

the webstart worked when packing was turned off. The file that caused the error was an antlr class file that AFAIK Griffon doesn't touch(java.lang.SecurityException: SHA1 digest error for groovyjarjarantlr/TokenStreamSelector.class) , possible pack200 or upstream issue?

2. Griffon is messing up the jars while signing. Are you running the 0.2 release made on Monday afternoon?

Yes, I downloaded 0.2 Tuesday afternoon.

1. keystore settings are no good still (some missing config perhaps?)

My config is out here:

http://code.google.com/p/easy-translate/source/browse/trunk/griffon-app/conf/Config.groovy I could care less if you see my password... it's right there for the world to see!

What does this line mean:

sigfile = 'GRIFFON'

Where does the value GRIFFON come from?

Ah yes, that makes sense.

It gets further now, but fails with the error:

com.sun.deploy.net.JARSigningException: Could not verify signing in resource:

Do you get a similar error when running the jnlp with javaws or with appletviewer on the command line? If so there may be two possible causes (that I can think of) 1. keystore settings are no good still (some missing config perhaps?) 2. Griffon is messing up the jars while signing. Are you running the 0.2 release made on Monday afternoon?

I never added the 'nozip=true' line because I couldn't find where in COnfig.groovy to put that. But that doesn't seem like the issue.

that's right. that flag only instructs the build to zip all resulting files or not. it should not affect signing.

I'm just copying the entire contents of the ./dist/webstart dir to my webserver. Is that right?

yup

... if only there were a Griffon book available. :)

Ok ok already! I can take a hint ;-)
