Not really.
We don't support auto_incremement because it doesn't work well in a sharded environment.
If you save an object the db will add a globally unique _id. That's guaranteed to be unique throughout a regular or sharded environment for the collection.

Is there an equivalent of "auto_increment" in mongo? I tried inserting 100 records and all was fine. I went ahead and added another 100 and the same numbers were used.
