When JavaScript started, it was (mostly) a client-side effort and then was extended to be usable on the server-side too. PHP has been built to be an efficient, easy and pleasant to use server-side programming language. I'm tired of sending Javascript to the client - I want it to understand PHP, either natively, or much more likely in the short term, as a plug-in.

Is anyone working on this already?
