If you can rebuild it, or get the vendor to rebuild it...

If you can't, you could try installing using rpm -i --nodeps then try to use either compat or standard lib packages to get the libraries installed that the binary needs..

Hi,

If this is the wrong list, let me know...

On rhel 5 I can not find gnome-libs rpm?

I did look in docs, rhel 5 dvd, rhn, did googles, etc...

Thanks for any help.. Or point me to the mailing list I should ask this on...

I don't think that gnome-libs exists as a single discrete package on rhel5. I think that rhel5 was a clean cutover to gnome2, which aparently did away with the monolithic gnome-libs package.

So, I guess the question now is what are you trying to do? Rebuild a source rpm on rhel5, or run a binary rpm that has a hard requirement for gnome-libs?
