Is it appropriate to ask questions about Log4j 1.3 and Logging Domains at this time? I wanted to make sure this is OK since 1.3 is not generally available yet.

The basic questions I would have deal with the functionality provided by Domains, a high level explanation of how they'll work, a rough guess as to when the feature may be generally available (e.g. > or < one year?), and also I heard at one point that a patent may be acquired on logging domains. Is this still the plan, and what is the business intent of obtaining a patent on this feature? (I'm assuming the intent would be to make sure other groups don't steal the idea, but I just wanted to double-check this).

Thanks for your time.

Regards, Mike
