Adding SPEWS to the list is WILL hurt, since it will also block large quantities of "good" email...

My RBL list was setup as follows:

BLACKLISTS='-block=relays.osirusoft.com,BLOCK

unreachable, unmainatined since some weeks

-block=relays.ordb.org,BLOCK -block=blackholes.intersil.net,BLOCK

wont block any of the proxy- and dialup/worm-spew

-block=spamguard.leadmon.net,BLOCK'

empty zone

You miss some effective zones, I recommend one 'general purpose' with dynamic assignments like:

blackholes.easynet.nl (add their dynamic/dialups too) dnsbl.njabl.org (includes some dynamic, perfectly maintained) dnsbl.sorbs.net (includes some dynamic, somewhat aggressive)

and one or two two the specialized proxy-blocker UPL/MONKEYS, DSBL, CBL, PSBL, SPAMCOP.

Of course SBL, SPEWS and a few of blackholes.us wont hurt too... See also <http://openrbl.org/stats.htm> and <http://mirror.bliab.com/bus/blockparade.html>
