Well according to the web site, support is included in LIRC from 0.7.1. I just installed Lirc and it's installed 0.8.2.
To install Lirc I used the following command from a terminal window:
sudo apt-get install lirc
You then have to choose the remote type, there are about 5 different SoundMon devices on there. Not sure which one is the right one. If you don't get the right one try the following command to choose another one...
sudo dpkg-reconfigure lirc
Hope this gives you a bit more to go on.
Rob
Sorry, looked on the site a bit more, for the LCD component you might need to install LCDproc by using the following command:
sudo apt-get install lcdproc
Ta,
Rob
