OASIS Colleagues,
Earlier today, I forwarded the attached document to a couple of NIST
working groups, and wanted to provide it to you as well.
Some of you may already know that EPRI is involved in this study around
the concept of a standardized connector, or interface, for residential
appliances that would allow them to work in any utility demand response
program using any communication technology. Simply said, the idea is to
modularize things so that customer-installable communication modules can
be plugged in to an appliance, with a single module working on all
appliances and visa versa.
I thought this might serve as interesting food for thought in your
discussions and would be very interested in your guidance and feedback.
