Creating a page on my personal website with my latest blog entries -- I wanted to also supply the number of comments for each post.

I didn't want to have to pull each post's comments feed though each time the page was loaded just to display the number of comments. EG: I'm displaying the last ten blog entries on my home page so I'd have the post's feed plus 10 comments feeds. Hate to think what that would due to my bandwidth over time. ;)
