Subject:Re: [courier-users] Is there any way to have courier-imap and courier-pop be a little more verbose in its logs?Actions...

Did this mail get through to the list?

Hi,

we are currently using courier-pop and courier-imap on our internal mail system and are seriously thinking about deploying that setup to the mail servers available for our customers as well.

However, I find that courier-pop and courier-imap are very terse in their logging - this will make support and debugging quite hard, I fear.

Would it be possible to have courier-pop and courier-imap log number of messages and number of bytes transferred in a session to syslog? The number of bytes transferred is also important to be able to do proper accounting of IP traffic if one of our customers accesses their e-mail from outside our network.

Please consider adding more verbose logging, thanks.

Greetings Marc
