I work for an architecture firm and this issue has popped up a few
times and I cannot figure it out. At randoom when some of the users
open a drawing with sketchup, the program freezes. Its not one
particualr drawing, nor does it happen on any drawing file regularly.
it happens to all of them at random. We are an all HP shop with ATI
graphics cards in all of the PCs. the 2 PCs that this is hapening on
most frequesntly both had Trial versions of the SketchUp Pro software
which have since expired. i have tried uninstalling the trial versions
and removing manually, through the registry, all instances of @last and
SketchUp. still this keeps happening. i have tried updating the Video
Card drivers, rolling them back as well. also i have tried uninstalling
the free version and reinstalling. the only other step that i can think
to take is to reimage the machines and hope it doesnt happen again, but
because i am unsure of what the outcome will be, i would prefer not to
do this. its a lot of work to configure these machines because there
are alot of special instructions for each PC. i am at my wits end with
this issue and i need to get it finished ASAP. has anyone else out
there experienced this issue. These machines are fairly new (no more
than 8 months old) and the Hardware Specs are more than enough to run
this program and several others without problem. HELP ME PLEASE!!!
