To continue answering myself, I figured it could be fixed in Rococoa. I've made
a patch for RococoaTypeMapper that adds a BoolConverter.

I think I should be able to add a test case that is independet of NSView now
(test that boolean true == (BOOL) YES) and submit a patch soon.
