I do not use devfs. I was using xen-unstable though as I need the BusLogic SCSI support for VMware. I've tried using my test server and Virtual PC and both do not work with 1.1 either. I'm trying to see why Xen reboots on my test server still, i'm betting it's un-supported hardware.

In xenolinux-sparse/init/do_mount.c root_device_name is stripped of '/dev/' prefix and printed out. But this doesn't affect the mounting of root device.

I can't reproduce your problem on the latest xeno-1.1.bk

Please bk pull xeno-1.1.bk, recompile Xen, XenoLinux, AND all the tools (very important!), especially 'tools/control' directory.

Good luck. Bin

And, please tell me, whether you have enabled 'devfs' when you compile xenolinux kernel.
