Hi Brad,
Microsoft licensing allows any number of clients to access server software running on either workstation or server versions of Windows if the server software is produced by a third party (i.e. not part of Windows). The only software their 10 seat workstation limit applies to is the server softare which is bundled with Windows, which includes file sharing, services for Macintosh, RAS, terminal services, and maybe even HTTP & FTP.
Perforce is certainly not affected by this either technically or legally.

Hello All,
We are ordering a machine to serve as a proxy at one of our sites, but I don't know if we need to pony up the $$$ for W2K server. As I understand it, server OS is required for 10+ connections to be made to the machine. Does this limitation apply to TCP/IP connections made through P4? If anyone knows that their site is supporting traffic that hits more than 10 users at a time on their Windows P4 server, and they are not using a server OS, please let me know.
Thanks all.
-Brad
