Hi Jeff,

thanks for the reply, no they aren't products, so as long as its expected thats fine, we'll plan around that. Just as always like confirmation that its the way its supposed to be, so we're not coding something that will later be fixed/changed etc.

Thanks again.

Hi Ian,

It seems like this is the expected behavior. I've gone into more detail below.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the response. After some testing the other day, the workings seem to be as follows.

Submit entry to target_country GB and it will end up in base.google.co.ukaccount items, but not .com. Set it to US and it will end up in base.google.com and be removed from .co.uk (dashboard, not search). The items removed are naturally the same item as such (i.e it will exist in either one whichever last submitted to, but not both accounts).

Yes the dashboards for base.google.co.uk and base.google.com are separate and your item will only be in one at a time. This is the expected behavior for now. When you say that these items are similar, how similar do you mean? It seems that the similarity issue has muddied the waters a bit with further discussion.

Also when submitted to base.google.co.uk, it ends up in google.com and vice versa for searching (no matter if GB or US). We were hoping maybe to stop items from ending up in base.google.com by specifying GB, but it goes there anyway (doesnt to .de). Its a bit of an issue as we seem to get a lot of traffic from the U.S which we don't want (all our stuff is in the UK), but its not a problem we cant work around if necessary.

This is also expected. Your items will show up in both base.google.com and base.google.co.uk searches, because these results are usually still useful since the language is English in both cases. However, product search results should be for only the desired country. Are your items products?

Thank you,

Jeff

If its not supposed to work that way, and still need some examples, let me know.

Thanks, Ian

Hi Mariano and Ian,

Could I see some example items? I'm wondering how you've set up the target_country and if you have put multiple countries into an item (http://code.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=62882). I'd be happy to look into it.

Thank you,

Jeff

Ah we have a similar problem here I've been looking into. Looks a

bit

like

you can only have objects in one dashboard or something ? I've been trying to work out whats best really as in the searches .co.uk and .com seem to share the same results ?

Would be good to have an explanation of what is actually happening.

Hi, I have this issue that I don't understand why it happens: When I upload some items using the API with target_country = GB the items appears in the GB dashboard, but at the same time I don't know why some items disappears in the US dashboard.

I don't understand why this happens only when I upload items to GB. Has someone the same problem or an explanation for this???
