is there a way to increase verbosity output of mailbot? in the manpage there is no such option.

Did you check that /usr/bin/mailbot exists, in the first place?

yes, it must be because when I run manually: # cat <MESSAGE> | maildrop I get the auto-reply (<MESSAGE> is the message I've sent and did not recieve the auto-reply).
