Here are some benchmarks!

mailbox size = 1500 messages

The time it takes for EUDORA to filter through those messages is extremely long. The type of IMAP commands it is sending are the following:

00072 UID SEARCH UID 20060 OR (HEADER To nan@merit.org) (HEADER Cc nan@merit.org)

00067 UID SEARCH UID 20060 HEADER Subject [CFTALKTor]

In comparison, I have a cyrus-imap mailbox with 7100 messages and it wizzes through the search requests.

Is there anyway you can take a look at the search code and see if you can optimize it?
