Mysql-based. I'm using libnss-mysql which provides system accounts from a mysql database, and of course my courier mailboxes are also conf'd in a database, as is DNS as previously mentioned. Thanks to mysql bi- directional replication between sites, the entire contents and user config (incl of course current passwords, etc.) are automatically maintained between all machines.
