The Nagios community would be better served if you kept to writing plugins, rather than insulting its core members and supporters.

In Gerhards defense, he emailed me off-list and apologized most sincerely. Thanks for sticking up for me, but let's just drop this.

That's all fine and good. I've received offline apologies and retractions as well.

However, if someone wants to throw accusations or make insults in a public forum, website, mailing list, article, or press release it is their duty to make the retraction or apology public in the same method.

Public accusations and private apologies are cowardly IMO. I'm now off to create a first draft of a Nagios Project Code of Ethics and Conduct.
