I am using userdb to store my email accounts and maildrop for deliveries to Maildirs. The real account is "rob@umcit.com". When a user sends to "Rob@umcit.com" Maildrop chokes on the uppercase, and email is bounced.

Why does your MTA have a different notion of the user mapping than maildrop? Your MTA should NOT accept mail for users that are not in your userdb.

By default, all of the software in the courier suite is case sensitive for user names. You can tell courier to ignore the case of local user names if you like (or more correctly, convert all local names to lower case before looking for them) - search for locallowercase in INSTALL.
