This might help, and tail -f your mail log file while logging in...

# cd /etc/courier # grep DEBUG * sqwebmaild:##NAME: DEBUG_LOGIN:0 sqwebmaild:# DEBUG_LOGIN=0 - turn off login debugging sqwebmaild:# DEBUG_LOGIN=1 - turn on login debugging sqwebmaild:# DEBUG_LOGIN=2 - turn on login debugging + log passwords too sqwebmaild:DEBUG_LOGIN=0
