Just a question. What kind of mailbox do the recipients have? I am
betting on mbox format and the mailbox has exceeded the maximum ulimit
filesize. Either that or your OS or filesystem may have a maximum file
size limit (usually 2G) that is exceeded.
Good thing it was only a friendly bet. Maildir and they are routinely
cleaned out. I just checked the user's maildir and it has no mail
remaining.
Both accounts? It was being delivered to both vorlon1 and root on one
and vorlon1 and postmaster (likely root) on the others.
What does root's mail spool look like?
vorlon1 was an alias for root, postmaster. I just changed that to another
user and all the deferred mail was delivered. Postfix uses maildrop as the
LDA and maildrop plops the stuff into the appropriate maildir. Our MUAs
connect to courier-imap once a minute and clean out the "inbox" by connecting
via pop3 every 10 minutes. I just cleaned out vorlon1's maildir and tried to
send mail to that user. No joy.
