Hi,

SMARTD_DEVICE="/dev/cciss/c1d0 [cciss_disk_00]" SMARTD_DEVICETYPE="cciss,0" SMARTD_DEVICESTRING="/dev/cciss/c1d0 [cciss_disk_00]"

So, is there a way to determine the physical disk from the smartctl info
available?

I'd combine smartctl and hpacucli information to make that match - both will
give you disk serial numbers and hpacucli will give you physical location and
also allow you to identify drives by blinking drive leds.
