OK, I see that I should follow my own rule and never write emails immediately after waking up. It's a *build* issue, and is *not* serious. It prevents compiling, but it's also a very small problem to solve.
introduced when gcc 3.3 came out and (properly) began complaining about long, implicitly continued strings.
tdb is technically part of Samba, and the tdb project syncs up with the samba project's tdb "upstream" from time to time. However, I'm not aware of any issues with it. Being rather familiar with it, however, if you wanted to forward to me (off list) some of what you describe, maybe I could take a look and figure it out. I also don't have a great deal of spare time, and have a list of things I'd like to work on about as long as the late, great, Andre the Giant's arm. That's a pretty big arm.
