It is clear that that the "bin" licensing issue has not yet been resolved. Is there any ETA on when this will happen.
9 months ago? Seriously, this is an ongoing process that just hasn't been resolved, despite the efforts of the JDK team, Sun product engineers, and (now former) employees of BSDi. There is a long and dark story I could give, but I'll avoid it. :)
It seems that at present nothing is ever going to happen if this has not, or will not be resolved to every one's satisfaction. I would have though that after some 6 months from the last announcement ( 10/2000 ) that there would be some progress towards an amicable solution.
Have you ever dealt with lawyers before? *grin*
Do you see any solution to this issue in the near future? Would it be good to start making some "noise" about that, sending a small story to JavaWorld and JavaLobby, for example?
