First, I would like to congratulate all on the effort that has resulted in WSRP v1.0 becoming an approved OASIS standard.
Secondly, appended below are the two comments that we received from the ballot. They do not require a response from the TC, but I think we should consider them as we move forward with v1.1. Both relate to the examples provided in the Introduction of how web services may be found and both comment that "ebXML Registry/Repository" should be listed as well. Perhaps as we establish the mechanism to be used in producing v1.1, such a change can be the first item considered. Rich:
Here they are:
--------- Peter Kacandes, Adobe: All OASIS technical specifications, when referring to the discovery of web services and related information, should reference both UDDI and ebXML Registry/Repository since they both provide this functionality and both have equal standing within OASIS.
-------- Eduardo Gutentag, Sun: Sun votes \'yes\' in spite of the fact that we strenuously object to the sentence \"A Producer may be discovered through mechanisms such as [UDDI] or [WSIL], ...\" in WSRP Committee Specification 1.0, 16 July 2003, page 16.
Referencing WSIL, a proprietary specification that is not in a standards track, while not mentioning ebXML Registry and Repository, which is an OASIS standard does not make sense in an OASIS standard like we hope WSRP will become.
However, we recognize that we should have caught this sooner, certainly during the open review period, so we do vote positively, in the expectation that the reference to WSIL will be replaced by a reference to ebXML RR at the first possible opportunity.

Karl,
This is good news to hear. I see that two of the votes for WSRP contained comments, but I am unable to view those comments. Could you either give me access or cut and paste those comments to an email so that I can pass them on to the TC for review?
Thanks, Rich Thompson OASIS WSRP TC Chair

OASIS members:
I am pleased to announce that the voting to approve SAML v1.1, WSRP v1.0, and XCBF v1.1 has resulted in all three of these Committee Specifications being approved as OASIS Standards.
The three technical committees, the OASIS Security Services TC, OASIS Web Services for Remote Portlets TC, and OASIS XML Common Biometric Format TC, are to be congratulated on their work in developing and approving these specifications.
Thanks also to those OASIS members who reviewed the specifications and cast ballots.
