Hi Srinivas,

Do you mind if I let you know that I've *not* had any issues with the new version? Whoohooo!

The problem had previously appeared within minutes of installation. I've been using this new version (5.6.0711.24354-en-pb) for 60 minutes with no sign of the "restricted permission" message!

Well done and hearty thanks to all for tracking down this bug.

hi all

We have recently updated the current live build with a new one which has many bug fixes. This includes few outlook issues too

So can all of you please try with the latest GD build from live site
(http://desktop.google.com) and see if the issue is fixed.

Please let us know if you still see any issues.

Thanks once again for all the info.

~Srinivas

This solution appears to be no better than just disabling email indexing. New email to outlook was not indexed for me. Back to the old version again.

solution I was recommended to execute by a computer technician (and it worked!).

SOLUTION: In Outlook click on Tools, Options, Other tab, Advanced Options button, Add-In manager button, then UNcheck Google desktop add-in. Then click "OK", etc.

Are you still able to have your email indexed with the Outlook add-in
