I'm not an expert on Tarantulas by any means. Colorado does have at least one species that I've run across quite often in the high deserts at about 4500 feet. As far as I know, it's in no danger from commercial collectors as it's just an ugly black with no markings. Very aggressive, though. I've been chased quite a few times. -Rod-
