Can anyone help?
Current config: Redhat 7.1, Courier 0.37.3
Obtained 0.39.3 of Courier. Packaged as non root user then built with rpm -ta
--target i686 courier-0.39.3.tar.gz as non root.
Once completed i then stopped courier. Did the usual rpm -Fvh *.rpm.
Received some notifications about renaming pam modules in /etc/pam.d to .rpmnew
(standard procedure for rpm i know). All finished and i checked the pam.d
directory but found no .rpmnew files??
Started courier. Same configuration as in earlier version 0.37.3. However could
not send out via smtp. I could send and receive locally and also receive via
smtp.
Nothing would get logged in the maillog and the mailq would fill up and the cpu
load would gradually increase with couriersmtp processes for each message in the
queue.
What changed? What is different?
Have not changed any configuration files. Have read through FAQ, Install all
docs i can think of.
This is the same procedure i used to upgrade from 0.35 to 0.37.3.
Is there something different about 0.39.3?
Please help! (I have been forced to fall back to courier-0.37.3 so that i could
actually send messages out via smtp. However i would like to upgrade to 0.39.3
and don't understand what is wrong.)
