The following reply was made to PR ports/88777; it has been noted by GNATS.

I have sent ports/89893 with an update to eclipse-cdt that contains the=20 native libraries we were missing. Please give it a try and see if it=20 resolves this problem. However, I am not so sure any more that this is=20 it. I think that there is a better chance of avoiding this issue if you=20 use one of the two ways mentioned in the freebsd-java list to fix the=20 libz issue: =20 http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-java/2005-October/004570.html

Without removing ~/.eclipse it just stalls on start (after showing eclipse splash screen).

No any CPU/disk activity, just stalled on kserel: $ eclipse=20 ^T load: 0.32 cmd: java 74239 [kserel] 3.78u 0.18s 2% 61120k
