Hi,
I'm using version 2.0.0.6 (20070728) of Thunderbird with Courier-IMAP
(Debian package version 4.2.0-1 ).
I have no issues with it at all. I have IMAP_ENHANCEDIDLE=1.
Thank you for your feedback.
I know IMAP_ENHANCEDIDLE parameter is not the root of my problems with
thunderbird client, I already tried to set it to 0. The strange thing is that
evolution mail client work perfectly with my server, when thunderbird oly bring
me troubles.
I notice today that in addition of the unread emails blinking phenomena, the
read ones do not display body at all.
If any one know where the problem might come from or can provide any hint it
would be appreciated.
I use Debian etch package of courier-imap (version 4.2.0-1)
mail.log is OK mail.err is clear and my imapd conf file is quite standard
(attached). I don't know where to look. It can't be thunderbird I tried on two
different PCs with different versions: 1.5 & 2.0.0.6
Regards.
Hello !
I'm setting up an email server on debian etch using Postfix, Maildrop
and Courier-Imap with virtual user in a mysql database. It works fine
but I have a problem with thunderbird clients.
When there is a new mail in INBOX it blinks like if it was constantly
arriving, consequently the the imapd process consume an abnormal amount
of resources and thunderbird is barely usable.
I set IMAP_ENHANCEDIDLE=1 in /etc/courier/imapd (i.e. imap server inform
instantly the client when a new mail arrive, no checks every x minutes)
but it can't explain the problem; if set to 0 the problem is still
there, and with evolution mail client I do not experience such problem
(either MAP_ENHANCEDIDLE=1 or =0). I also tried to lower "Maximum number
of server connections to cache" to 2 in thunderbird
(http://kb.mozillazine.org/IMAP:_advanced_account_configuration), I
still experience the problem.
I wonder if the problem comes from thunderbird or courier-imap. I tried
thunderbird windows (2.0) and linux (1.5)
Any idea to solve that?
Thank you.
