I have inherited a sendmail courier mail platform and I need to implement quotas. I have searched through the docs and the sourceforge archives, but I am still not able to get them working.

How did you create the Maildirs? Did you use maildirmake -q or did some other program create them?

You must use the maildirmake that comes with Courier AND use the -q option to create the maildirs to make the soft quota system work.
