With the proposed feature, they don't even need to. They'll only get whatever is "specific enough" to make sense.

Most end-sites these days don't carry a full table anymore anyway, due to "it won't fit in my 3640".

Just read through the archives of this group alone - once per month, someone asks how to do "BGP" with a sales-impaired product (like a Cisco 3550 etc), and one of the standard answers is "take two default routes plus customer routes of your upstream".
