Subject:[courier-users] courier 0.40.2 - ximian imap client - missing subfoldersActions...

i'd appreciate any help i can get with the following problem.

i have been successfully using the mail portion of ximian's evolution 1.2.2 (www.ximian.com) as an imap client. i am running courier 0.40.2 as my mail server.

today when i was modifying an entry in evolution's contact list the ui hung. fairly unusual. following a reloading of the app the contact modification had been made and saved but unfortunately all information corresponding to email subfolders has been wiped out on the courier server.

now if i bring up a completely new (different) imap client (or re-use the original imap client) and attempt to populate it with the folders that i thought were saved at the server end I get nothing but a top level INBOX with no subfolders.

at the time of the subfolder removal, the local machine happened to have a fully populated tree of subfolders and i have tar'd up and saved my email archive.

i would guess that the original problem has nothing to do with courier (or this users-list) but would like some suggestions how i might reconstruct the known subfolder tree on the courier imap server and then, as automatically as possible, repopulate those folders on the server from my local copies.

is that possible, is it an entirely manual process..?

help would be greatly appreciated.

regards peter
