Greg,

Did you try the renaming of the files to see if maildrop works fine without the filter files? Remember that it can use both a filter from the user's home directory and from /etc, ~/.mailfilter and /etc/maildroprc, I believe.

yes i did. but 666 was not working :( . there's another thing i'd like to inform.... autoreply is also not working, i don't know why because there's no error message. i'm not sure if this is a maildrop problem or sqwebmail. btw i use sqwebmail-3.6.0.20030922 and maildrop-1.6.3

Fellows,

I experinced this problem, too. It got solved by give the filter/ configuration files the right permissions, 666, I believe. Check the installation manual, it is very specific in this regard. You can run a quick test by renaming the files, and you will see that the problem goes away.

Hi, I got a strong (or stupid) problem with maildrop. When I try to deliver mails with maildrop I got always the following message:

vmail@chambertin:~$ maildrop -V -d te@chambertin.fmx.ch < /tmp/test.mail maildrop: Unable to open filter file, errno=2. vmail@chambertin:~$
