Maybe a bit late.. but try this:

[PARENT] localhost=>dc=you=>o=company=>ou=domain=>mail=email [CHILD]

works well this way, very organized etc etc etc. I use nothing more than: nis.schema, courier's schema, cosine, core.

Perl script to manage this tba.
