Actually Sam, that may not be entirely true, for example if you can construct input data that when passed from imapd/pop3d to authdaemond may be able to exploit a local vulnerability in that program or a library it uses.

authdaemond does not listen on any network port. Nobody can break into authdaemond until they've already broken into your machine.
