Just don't open any attachment, and for security sake, disable accepting HTML email (;

Apart from that, I can't believe that nobody uses Microsoft Outlook in connection with the Courier IMAPd.

Does anyone have experiences with Courier and Outlook?

1. Have you connected successfully to it with another imap client? If not, it may not just be outlook :P

2. Use outlookexpress. It's MUCH MUCH MUCH better for general usage. Outlook98/2000/etc (nonexpress) works with exchange and so you get calendaring/etc, but for straight imap or pop3, there's no reason to use it over outlook express. I'm writing this message right now from OE connecting to my courier server through imap (well sending it through smtp yadda yadda yadda, but got the message...)
