With a few hundreds thousands users on my gadgets, I get many emails every days from users having questions, suggestions, problems, etc. On average, I get 2 users a week which tell me the clock does not work, and almost all the time, asking them to perform a Ctrl + F5 to reload the iGoogle content clears the issue.
In the past couple of days, I have been getting an abnormally high number of users telling me the gadget does not work, 5+ or so a day, and in addition to that, my gadget comment pages have several post of users reporting as well that the gadget does not work. I have been in touch with some of these users, and they report that this is not an issue with the browser cache, as the Ctrl + F5 do not clear the problem.
All I can see from my side is that things are working fine on iGoogle. I test on Firefox 2, Internet Explorer 6 and 7, and Safari 3 (on WinXP).
Here is the gadget causing the reports from users: http://www.google.com/ig/directory?url=www.ljmsite.com/google/gadgets/worldclocks.xml I have a second one with the same code (for historical reason) here: http://www.google.com/ig/directory?url=www.ljmsite.com/google/gadgets/worldclocks4.xml
Are any other developers experiencing similar issues or receiving similar user reports? Any ideas of what is going on? If you do, could you please post a link to your gadget so that we start investigating with additional data?
Googlers, could you please let us know if some iGoogle code has been updated about 2 days ago? Are you doing a local roll out of some new changes, which could explain why, in the South East of the US I do not see the issue some users reports consistently?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Jerome
