Can someone please explain to me the difference between the 'batchsize'
file, the "maxrcpts" option in the 'bofh' file, and the "MAXRCPT" option
in the 'module.esmtp' file?
I thought "maxrcpts" controls the maximum number of smtp RCPT TO:
recipients that courier will *accept* on an incoming message and MAXRCPT
controls the maximum number of RCPT TO: recipients that courier will
*send* on an outgoing message. But on further reading it looks like the
sending side is actually set by the batchsize file. So what does
MAXRCPT do? Or am I totally confused?
And will any of this control the TO: header in the message? I've got a
guy who sends messages to a personal mailing list of hundreds of people,
and if he forgets to use BCC, then you get a message with a huge TO:
line. I was hoping to control this at the server. But upon reflection
I'm assuming that none of these will actually rewrite the TO: header
regardless of how many RCPT TO: commands it will issue per message.
Is there maybe a Thunderbird extension or something that will prompt you
if you mail something to more than 'X' number of TO: or CC: recipients?
(Yes, I know, the Thunderbird mailing list is down the hall, last door
to the right.) :-)
