550 User unknown

error message. This is all right, the only problem is that this response arrives after a considerable time. It takes at least 8 secs, but sometimes even 2 mins. The more unknown addressee in the mail the longer time passes to the error message.I think courier checks them one by one.

That is correct.

Could you help me please what should I check or do to eliminate this long waiting time for the unknown addressee of the local domain?

Would you prefer it instead if your server gets buried by hundreds of spammers blasting it with hundreds of different spam messages per seconds, eating up your memory and CPU time?

Do you think that's really a better way to go about it?
