|Subject:||[Action] Committee Draft approval proposal|
|From:||Farrukh Najmi (farr...@wellfleetsoftware.com)|

We need to start planning for final review and approval of the RegRep 4 cd1 draft spec bundle later this month. Our meeting on September 27th, 2008 will fall on Thanksgiving holiday in the US. Given that many participants are US based I expect we will not meet that day. Our meeting tomorrow is on a day when Nikola and possibly Oliver are traveling.
I would like to propose that we hold a special meeting during the week of September 17, 2008 with the main agenda of approving the draft specifications as TC approved Committee Draft.
Here is what the OASIS standards approval process says:
" *3.1 Approval of a Committee Draft *
The TC may at any stage during development of a specification approve the specification as a Committee Draft. The approval of a Committee Draft shall require a Full Majority Vote of the TC. The TC may approve a specification, revise it, and re-approve it any number of times as a Committee Draft. "
Here is what I propose to get to approval of Committee Draft:
* This week, we choose a date during the week of September 17, 2008 to hold a special meeting when *all* of us can attend * We raise any outstanding issues until COB Friday September 14, 2007 * I distribute regrep4-cd1-draft8 addressing those issues by September 15, 2008 * We meet on our chosen date for the special meeting and hold a voice vote to approve the final cd1 draft spec bundle as Committee Approved specifications
We need to act on the following actions in decreasing order of urgency. Please try and respond to first two items today ASAP so we can finalize the plan.
* Please comment on above proposal ASAP * Indicate what times between 11AM - 6PM US ET you are *not available* during the week of September 17, 2008 * Please comment on any issues you wish to see addressed in regrep4-cd1-draft7
The document named RegRep 4 CD1 Draft 7 spec bundle (regrep4-cd1-draft7.zip) has been submitted by Farrukh Najmi* to the OASIS ebXML Registry TC document repository.
Document Description: Draft 7 of RegRep 4 specifications.
This version is ready for final review and comments by TC before we put it up for TC approval vote.
-Fixed event model for pull -Now pull is indicated by no DeliveryInfo element in Subscription -deliveryMode replaced with notificationOption as in ebRIM 3 -New GetPendingNotification canonical query -Fixed all figures -Fixed all embedded issues in yellow
ebRS draft 7: -Added GetNotification canonical query -Added section "Pulling Notification on Demand" -Added Version Control chapter -Added missing examples in various places (e.g. UpdateObjectRequest) -Fixed all figures -Fixed all embedded issues in yellow
Please review both specs carefully and start discussing issues in separate threads on the mailing list. Thank you.
