Subject:[courier-users] problem with aliases filesActions...

Hi,

I am running courier 0.44.2 on fedora core1 (fully patched). It has been running with no problem for almost a year. It is set up to use aliases for each user, thus each user has an entry in /etc/courier/aliases/system.

Today some more users were added, and now none of the users are found - ie all emails being delivered are producing the error "user unknown" . I have rolled back the aliases file and re-run makealiases, and this has restored the mailserver, however this doesn't solve the problem.

Is there an issue with numbers in the system file? each entry looks like this:

email address: system username

There is now 100 users listed, is there a number limit? I have straced the makealises process, bash -x makealiases, straced the auth process to see where it could be falling over, but none are providing me with a clue. The only error I get is that the user is unknown.

Thanks, GB
