Some spammers are able to get through by using a mailhost which I do not control (it is a xecondary mx for my domain),

I'm in the same position, except that almost all my mail comes in from my ISP's store-and-forward MX.

so I want to have lists of "Received" headers and IP addresses which send me nothing but spam and have courier-maildrop use them. Is this possible?

Why with Maildrop? I do this with a Postfix 2.1 pcre header filter (I know you use Postfix ;)

I have been running Postfix on another machine for several years and installed Postfix on the machine in question just two days ago, but apparently it does not have PCRE installed, hence the problem. It is an Axentra Server appliance, and removing Courier MTA would break some functionality. I have installed Postfix to listen on another port and then forward mail to Courier MTA after obvious spam has been removed. I will try to get PCRE working on this machine. Thanks for the hint.

I believe the machine does not have PCRE capability installed, I don't think the problem is in the Postfix packages I downloaded.
