I am changing from mbox to maildir but want to import my current mailboxes some of which have several hundred messages, how can I import the messages back into maildir?

I don't know how you'd do this in Mutt, but after creating all the necessary Maildir folders, I fired up Evolution and drag-n- dropped the mails from "local mbox" to IMAP, 1 folder at a time.

God, that sounds like a lot of work :)

It wasn't, really. Now, if I had a hundred tiny folders, then yes, it would have been, but I only have a few dozen. Most went fast, and it was only the folders with thousands of emails that took any time to populate. And, while they *were* loading, I was reading slashdot...

I will have to bear that in mind for the future as I tend not to purge my email bases for ages :)
