What in the world did I do to you to desire a reply like this? I asked a simply question. I was starting to appreciate you reply that it was not a courier-IMAP issue but an Outlook problem until you went off this anti-Microsoft tangent. I just want to know what I did to you that was so bad that I deserved a reply like the one above.

Absolutely nothing. Robin has a long, proud history of being rude to people in mailing lists. He is especially mischevious in the qma@cr.yp.to list every chance he gets. His advice is usually always very technically correct, but he does love to be condescending. If you can overlook his condescending attitude, then fine, thank him for his advice. If not, just put him in your kill file and be done with him.

I will agree with him that m$ has never produced a decent piece of software. All of my home machines are linux, and I have about 15 unix servers of various flavors that I manage at work but I still find myself sitting at my win2k box for reading email at work. Why, because Netscape on linux sucks. Why do I, a mail administrator (among other things) for a global network, use a broken MUA like Netscape? Because I damn well please. I have used it for 6 years and it's what I am comfortable looking at. I might permanently switch to pine if I take the time to learn all of the user interface, since Netscape isn't being actively developed any longer...

I don't even want to hear how Netscape mail client breaks threading and archives, etc. I am well aware of it. I will change when I get good and ready to, ie when I have the time and effort :-)
