For local users I use:

mailbox_command = /path/to/maildrop local_destination_concurrency_limit = 1

I read that mailbox_transport was preferable to mailbox_command, but i didn't find any doc for using it with maildrop and local users.

I read the same thing, but a guide that I followed a while back used 'mailbox_command' and that's working great for me. If someone else can shed some light as to why mailbox_transport is better that'd be great.
